

Aoife Ní Labhradha is originally from Cork City, Ireland. Having lived in London, Oman (Middle-East), France and Donegal, she finally settled in Cork to continue her education. She is also a fluent Irish speaker.
After successfully completing a portfolio course, Aoife began to study art at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, where she focused on fashion and textile design. With a view towards focusing on life-drawing, Aoife transferred to the Crawford College of Art and Design, where she was awarded a general and higher degree in Fine-Art. In 2008, she also received a postgraduate Diploma for Art and Design Teachers with First Class Honours.
During 2006-2007 Aoife was given a Thomas Dammann Award for artists from the Royal Hibernian Academy (R.H.A), Dublin. This enabled her to travel to Chicago and New York to undertake a research project concerning her work. The same year she was selected as one of a group of new and emerging artists to exhibit in Fledglings 2006 and again the following year for Fledglings 2007. In 2008, Aoife was selected and interviewed by The Evening Echo for International Women's Day and was named upcoming artist of the year. Similarly, in January 2009, Cork Now Magazine published an interview with her that highlighted Stars to Watch Out for '09.
Currently, Aoife continues to run a successful studio practice while also teaching Life-Drawing and Art, Craft & Design workshops through Irish and English.
